Having already worked with this client on a previous project in their home, being asked to come back and assist in updating their kitchen was an honor! This kitchen was once half the size with a peninsula wrap-around counter. (Not so suitable for a family that likes to entertain and cook.) Our goal was to give this client an inspiring and functional kitchen that exuded elegance with high-contrast finishes. We accomplished this look with the help of Byrne Woodworking. Selecting finishes for the cabinets that complimented adjacent rooms was important as we wanted to maintain the flow of the home. The lower darker wood base cabinets complement the wood flooring throughout the home while the white upper cabinets keep the space feeling fresh and light. The Taj Mahal quartzite slabs played a huge role in adding interest to the space! We loved the material so much that we decided to use slabs as a backsplash as well adding a more modern feel. Keeping with the warmer wood tones, it only felt right to source brass hardware to balance the space and tie it all together with classic pendants that add character with the rectangular chain links and a milk glass base. The custom stools from Shaker-to-fit were the last elements to be added polishing off the space beautifully!
